Dera bassi (Mera Chandigarh): Mohali police has arrested Suresh Gupta, vice-president of Mohali district unit of the BJP in allegations of harassment to his daughter-in-law Jyoti (26) for dowry.

As per information with Mera Chandigarh Victim was admitted to the GMCH, Sector 32 for treatment after she wa.s physically and mentally harassed by her in-laws and husband, where Jyoti has given statement given to the SDM, Dera Bassi confirmed the allegations.

It is to mention that couple was married in 2005 and Jyoti was never lived normal life due to her in-laws harassment actions.

The police has filed FIR against all accused the wife of BJP leader is absconding since complaint was lodged.

This incident throws light into our society response to social call to stop dowry in marriages that if the opinion leaders are not responding to these calls than what we expect from laymen.
