Chandigarh (Mera Chandigarh): The Public Health Department has given a clean chit to the Ami Chand, executive engineer of the public health department of the Municipal Corporation, with other junior officials held by Chandigarh CBI Court in corruption charges on Thursday.

As per the available information, RK Singla, the superintendent engineer (SE), project public health circle, Chandigarh, has wrote a letter to the Chandigarh chief engineer, clarifying that Ami Chand, executive engineer, PHD, has nothing to do with the case and has no role in the work, in which he was accused of indulging in corrupt practices.

It is to mention here that the anti-corruption branch of CBI Court Chandigarh has booked Ami Chand, XEN, Harjit Singh, SDO, and Gurdarshan Singh, junior engineer, besides a contractor, Het Ram of M/s Esquire Construction Company, Chandigarh on carrying out works above the tender amount.

According to Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, DIG of the CBI Chandigarh, the government officials were booked under the ongoing two-day national wide drive against corrupt government officials in Chandigarh.
