Chandigarh Auto-rickshaw Operators Stages Protests
Chandigarh (Mera Chandigarh): The auto-rickshaw operators of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali staged protest in Sector -17, Chandigarh parade ground on Friday to get back the impounded vehicles by Chandigarh Administration.

As per information given by Sarabjit Singh, vice-chairman of the joint action committee, that, the auto-rickshaw operators of tricity gathered in parade ground and organized a rally, they gave a memorandum to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), the joint action committee of auto-rickshaw drivers of Mohali, Panchkula and Chandigarh demanded that the impounded autos be released without any fine
It is to mention that, Chandigarh Administration had banned petrol/diesel-run auto-rickshaws from April 9 of this month and the Chandigarh Transport Authorities had impounded many auto-rickshaws in its campaign.
The autorickshaw operators of Haryana and Punjab have been advised not to ply their auto-rickshaws in UT unless they get valid permits from the State Transport Authority, Chandigarh. Any violation will be strictly dealt with and the vehicles will be impounded. It was the second day of UT action, as another 20 autos were impounded.
