Just prior to Trump's "animals" remark, a California sheriff concerned about her community said to Trump, "There could be an MS-13 member I know about - if they don't reach a certain threshold, I cannot tell ICE about it".
"We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in - and we're stopping a lot of them - but we're taking people out of the country", he said.
"Comparing any person to an animal, regardless of criminal record or immigration status.is an invitation to violate human rights, to hate, to xenophobic rhetoric, and that is something that can not be accepted", he told Mexican TV network Televisa. And we're taking them out of the country at a level and at a rate that's never happened before. "And then to think about collective action we could take to mitigate these conditions".
Trump has previously used the term "animals" to refer to members of MS-13. MS-13 has done heinous acts. Legend declined, but stood by the biological fact that they are human beings: "Calling them animals may make us feel better. doesn't make it true".
WASHINGTON, DC - JANUARY 30: Evelyn Rodriguez and Freddy Cuevas, parents of children who were murdered by MS-13 watch as U.S. President Donald J. Trump delivers the State of the Union address in the chamber of the U.S. House of Representatives January 30, 2018 in Washington, DC. "I was talking about the MS-13", Trump said, insisting his comments were clear. When the MS-13 comes in, when the other gang members come into our country, I refer to them as animals. "These aren't people. These are animals", Trump said, triggering a torrent of condemnation from the lawmakers. "We need strong immigration laws.We have laws that are laughed at on immigration", he said.
Trump was unapologetic about his language and said he'd use it again.
Judge rules special counsel had authority to prosecute Manafort
Manafort, Jackson said, was not merely associated with President Donald Trump's campaign but served as its chairman for a time. He faces a separate set of bank fraud and other financial charges in Virginia, for a trial set to begin in July.
Nancy Pelosi berated President Trump and continued the false narrative that he called all illegal immigrants "animals" during a press conference Thursday. She said the media is entitled to defend MS-13 if they want, but a term like "animal" doesn't go almost far enough to describe members of a gang whose motto is "rape, control, kill".
The illegal immigrant gang has been responsible for some of the most horrific crimes to be committed in the United States, including decapitating and dismembering a man along with cutting out his heart, as the Washington Post reported late past year.
"This is one of the most vicious and deadly gangs that operates by the motto of rape, control and kill", Sanders said.
"It took an animal to stab a man a hundred times and decapitate him and rip his heart out". An informant told police that three members of the gang took one 15-year old girl behind a home and took turns beating her with a "solid bat" 28 times. "It's a disgrace", Mr. Trump answered, "and we're suing on that".
