Jerusalem witnessed fixing of road signs on Monday ahead of May 14, the day when U.S. consulate building will be officially repurposed as embassy.
The U.S. administration will ask Israel to withdraw from four Arab neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, which will likely become the capital of a future Palestinian state, according to an Israeli press report.
"We're still waiting to see if the U.S. president will come here for the opening move".
Also in its statement on Sunday, the POC slammed the Arab cyclists for their "disloyalty" and for taking part in a "free service for the [Israeli] occupation that does not recognize worldwide laws, resolutions and charters of the United Nations on the rights of the Palestinian people and continues to deny the right of the Palestinian Arab people to establish their independent state on their land with al-Quds as its capital".
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said in wake of Trump's announcement that the U.S. had effectively disqualified itself from peace process. Israel has expressed hopes that other countries will follow suit, though the move was widely condemned in the worldwide community.
Trump said last week that he "may" go to Jerusalem for the opening himself.

The United States opens its embassy to Israel in Jerusalem, a 70th birthday present for the Israelis that builds on Washington's recent recognition of the Holy City as Israel's capital. The Palestinians seek the eastern sector as capital of their hoped-for state.
In March, Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales said his country would relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on May 16, two days after the USA move.
"This move is not only illegal but will also thwart the achievement of a just and lasting peace between two sovereign and democratic states on the 1967 borders, Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace and security", Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said in a statement. Following the announcement Trump signed a further embassy waiver under the Jerusalem Embassy Act.
