Ms Maria Carballo filed a US$50,000 (S$65,000) civil suit on Monday in Chicago, alleging that the incident arose in April past year at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place hotel.

(G.N.S) Dt. 24 Stan Lee has been accussed of sexual misconduct by massage therapist Maria Carballo.

Citing assault, battery and other counts, Carballo is seeking a judgment "in excess of $50,000, plus an award of punitive damages, and attorneys' fees and costs as permitted under the statute".

The Chicago Tribune reports that Lee's attorney, Jonathan Freund, called the lawsuit "a shakedown" and says Lee denies the allegations.

According to the suit, the massage continued without any issues until Carballo began massaging Lee's quadriceps, after which Lee began "to moan and groan", at which point Carballo chose to end the massage. When Lee began groaning again, Carballo says she switched to a Shiatsu massage instead, using her feet.

Carballo also said that when her employer asked her to perform another massage on Stan Lee, she initially refused, but claimed that he said he was "sorry", so she returned to perform another massage.
