Toys R Us stores in the United States of America and UK are in the process of closing down, with a possible rescue package being negotiated for the Canadian arm of the business.

"There have been many sad moments for Toys R Us in recent weeks, and none more heartbreaking than today's news about the passing of our beloved founder", Toys R Us said in a statement. Both Toys R Us and Babies R Us filed for bankruptcy, weighed down by almost $5 billion in debt.

The efforts focus on Toys "R" Us's USA stores and are separate from Larian's attempts to buy the brand's 82 Canadian stores, which 20 interested parties are vying for, said Toys "R" Us bankruptcy documents filed in the U.S.

California toy mogul Isaac Larian is leading an effort to save more than half of the 735 domestic Toys R Us Inc. stores that would close under the bankrupt retailer's plan to liquidate.

Larian also is leading an investor group that's making a separate attempt to acquire Toys R Us' Canadian operations along with about 200 of the chain's top-performing USA stores, MGA confirmed.

So far, almost $4,000 has been donated by Toys R Us fans.

She says bases are covered for Toys & Co.in that regard, as she and the rest of the company prides itself on community relations.

Conte tells Chelsea to accept share of the blame
It won't be easy because Leicester is a good team. "To win a trophy in England is always very tough". In the last game we played at home we suffered against them.

Lazarus, who stepped down as CEO of Toys R Us in 1994, transformed the toy industry with a business model that became one of the first retail category killers — big stores that are so devoted to one thing, and have such an impressive selection, that they drive smaller competitors out of business.

As parents began to ask for toys, the American entrepreneur met their demand and in 1957 the business evolved into the famous toy store. "People say that if there is no Toys R Us another retailer will pick up the slack". The popular toy chain filed for liquidation late last week, triggering the likely closure or sale of all their USA stores.

Inspired by his father's bike shop, Mr Lazarus began selling baby furniture in his Washington store called Children's Supermart in 1948. He has a separate bid to purchase the Canadian operations of Toys "R" Us.

It said the limited information around the future of Toys "R" Us means its losses might differ from those it is predicting, so it will continue to monitor Toys "R" Us's dealings and revise its totals if needed.

Toys R Us had hoped to reorganize under the bankruptcy laws but opted to liquidate after what Toys R Us Chief Executive David Brandon called a "devastating" holiday shopping season a year ago.

In January 2004, a Season 15 episode of The Simpsons saw a similar outcome for the toy store. His strategy created the world's largest toy-store chain.
