The Seahawks, looking to add salary cap space, released Sherman Friday after he reportedly refused to accept a pay cut from his $11 million base salary he was to earn during the 2018 season. He tore his Achilles tendon in November.
Of course, this is all dependent on Sherman actually leaving Northern California without a contract.
Oculus Rift headsets have reportedly stopped working across the globe
The Oculus Rift forum is full of owners complaining about the problem and have offered a number of possible solutions. They are getting a notification stating "Cant Reach Oculus Runtime Service" due to their certificate expiring.
Even if Sherman does not sign with the 49ers immediately it seems pretty clear a return to the Seahawks on a lesser deal than he had isn't first on Sherman's agenda. On March 1, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he expected Sherman to remain in walking boot for a few more weeks. But some players, including former Panthers defenders Jon Beason and Charles Godfrey, needed two seasons before they returned to their pre-Achilles surgery form.
But Sherman said at the Sports Star awards he thought he would be ready for the beginning of mini-camp. This will be an ongoing process and I am excited to take on this challenge. Also, no player who's been targeted 300-plus times over that span has allowed a lower completion percentage (47.4) or passer rating (50.9).
The shedding of Sherman, Bennett and Lane means the Seahawks now have just eight players left on their roster from the 2013 team that won the Super Bowl under contract for the 2018 season - quarterback Russell Wilson, receiver Doug Baldwin, linebackers Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright, Chancellor, Thomas, Avril, and punter Jon Ryan.
