A Georgia mayor says a police officer who was killed in a shooting that wounded two sheriff's deputies had a young child and a baby on the way. Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesperson Nelly Miles said officials are still notifying next of kin before identifying the suspect.

One of the deputies was shot through his bullet proof vest in the stomach and is undergoing surgery.

The Locust Grove officer was shot and killed at the scene.

But while trying to serve the warrant, an altercation broke out, according to the sheriff, and all three officers were shot.
