The Detroit Pistons saw the real Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, the club that added superstars Paul George and Carmelo Anthony to a group that featured MVP Russell Westbrook. However, Roberson slipped and fell on the court as his leg bent in an awkward direction. He was taken off the court on a stretcher, and it looks likely that he's suffered a serious injury.
Roberson was making his 39th start of the season and is averaging 5.0 points and 4.7 rebounds.
So in theory, Oklahoma City should improve offensively to make up some of the defensive hit.
The Thunder confirmed that Roberson will need season-ending surgery to fix a ruptured left patellar tendon, Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman reports. They'd won seven of eight coming in, but were playing for the first time all season without Cousins, who averaged 25.2 points and 13.9 rebounds before tearing his Achilles tendon in the final seconds of a victory over Houston on Friday night.
The Thunder were victorious over the Detroit Pistons in their last contest, 121-108. Yet the difference has been marginal so far: The Thunder scored 1.8 percent more efficiently than the opponent's typical defensive rating during the 10 games Roberson has missed, as compared to 1.3 percent better than usual with him in the lineup.
VP Pence calls report on President Trump's alleged affair 'baseless'
She also described how she'd watched Shark Week with the president who was "terrified" and "obsessed" with the creatures. The incident is alleged to have occurred just one month after Trump's wife Melania gave birth to their son Barron.
Thunder coach Billy Donovan said it will be hard to fill the void left by one of the league's top perimeter defenders.
"I thought our defense in the first half was really good", Donovan said. "He's a huge part of our team and why we win". Anthony scored point No. 25,000 on a third quarter free throw on the road against the Detroit Pistons.
"A lot changes", Westbrook said.
Australian centre Thon Maker played 19 minutes for three points and five rebounds while Boomers guard Matthew Dellavedova contributed seven points, two rebounds and four assists.
The beef between the reigning MVP and Embiid began back in December when Westbrook led the Thunder to a 119-117 victory over the Sixers.
