Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has supposedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal, but how would the club's first-team be effected?

Sven Mislintat, Arsenal's new head of recruitment, who was previously the chief scout at Dortmund, is said to be heavily pushing the club to sign Aubameyang.

The Borussia Dortmund striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League on a number of occasions over the past few seasons following the Gabon international's prolific form in the Bundesliga.

That would in turn mean Arsenal still requiring an alternative, with Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang an option.

Aubameyang could provide the spark Arsenal's season badly needs, but the potential move also raises questions about where he would fit into Wenger's team.

The proceeds from the 28-year-old's sale, which could rise to £25m with add-ons, will go towards Arsenal's efforts to sign Brazilian winger Malcom from Bordeaux with further meetings scheduled with the players representatives this week.

Of course, Tottenham have no need for a goalscorer like Aubameyang, given the fact that they have Harry Kane, but you can understand why some Spurs supporters don't want him on the red half of North London.

Aubameyang's talent is undeniable, as he has scored 141 goals in 212 appearances with Dortmund. It is clear: It can not go on like this.

Accusations of indiscipline and poor time-keeping have dogged the Gabon worldwide, who has also been extensively linked with a move to Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande.

The Gunners are now enduring what seems to be an annual slump in form in these winter months, however, sitting 8 points from a Champions League spot, it would be suggested that Arsenal are facing a mid-season crisis. The club's record signing is without a goal in nine games, and it's unclear how the France worldwide and Aubameyang would fit into the same line-up unless Lacazette is pushed out wide.

If those reports are to be believed, Arsenal will have to break their record transfer on a striker for the second time in less than a year following Alexandre Lacazette's arrival from Lyon during the summer transfer window.
