Gruden's 10-year, $100 million contract is the richest in National Football League coaching history and matches Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson (both with the Cowboys) for the longest, the Times reported.
Since 2009, Gruden was the color commentator on ESPN's "Monday Night Football" broadcasts.
The team reportedly offered Gruden an ownership stake in the team if he accepted the coaching position, but who needs an ownership stake when you can have $100 million in cold, hard cash instead?

The rest is the same and now you can touch the options instead of using a mouse to guide them on screen. While the iPad version does support multiplayer modes, the game will only work on a local network.
This time Gruden will replace Jack Del Rio, who went 25-23 in three seasons with the franchise. Good luck with the Oakland Raiders.
With Gruden's impending return to the Silver & Black sidelines, it seems like the ideal time to take a look back at one of the most famous (infamous?) trades in Raiders history.
"Well, thank you", Gruden said, adding: "Nothing's official yet, but these Chiefs' fans have been on my case since I got here!" Following that snowy contest, Raiders owner Al Davis made the trade the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2016, Oakland won 12 games, which gave Del Rio a four-year extension, but this season the team failed to deliver with a 6-10 2017 season.
"There's a great legacy on 'Monday Night Football, ' " McDonough said. He last coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2008. You might be familiar with "Gruden's QB Camp", which was as segment on ESPN where Gruden would interview college quarterbacks entering the NFL Draft.
