The University of Arkansas and SMU Football coach Chad Morris dotted the contract i's and crossed the t's for Morris Wednesday afternoon officially to be announced as the Razorbacks new head football coach.

Morris and Malzahn will have their first meeting as fellow SEC head coaches on September 22 next season on the Plains in Auburn.

Bielema took over in Fayeteville in December of 2012, leaving his head coaching job at the University of Wisconsin where he had coached since 2006.

Morris inherited a major rebuild at SMU, which went 1-11 the year before he arrived.

He replaces Bret Bielema, who was sacked after compiling a 29-34 record in five seasons - including 11-29 in the Southeastern Conference. Under Morris' fast-paced, no-huddle spread attack, Clemson shattered 127 offensive records (89 individual; 38 team) from 2010-14.

He is also getting consideration for the Tennessee head coaching vacancy.

The 49-year-old Morris will formally be introduced on Thursday.

Morris played a key role in helping Clemson become a national power when he was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2011 to 2014.

Morris replaces Bret Bielema at Arkansas.
