House of Cards to resume production for final season without Kevin Spacey
Abbreviated 'House Of Cards' Season 6 Sans Kevin Spacey Is A Go, Netflix's Ted Sarandos Says

When Netflix announced that House of Cards had been canceled and production on season 6 had been halted amid sexual misconduct allegations against the series' star Kevin Spacey, no one was sure what the show's future might hold.

"We have made an arrangement to produce six seasons of "House of Cards"," Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said at a UBS media conference.

The sixth and final season of the popular series will feature a lead role for Robin Wright, who plays the wife of Spacey's character. Many fans suggested moving forward with Robin Wright and that seems to be exactly the direction Netflix has made a decision to take. "We are excited to bring closure to fans", he said.

"Netflix's version of House of Cards, which Spacey helped develop as an executive producer, was the first big original series hit for the streaming service after its 2013 debut", Eric notes.

Season six, which was scheduled to air in 2018, will count just eight episodes instead of the regular 13 made for previous instalments of the hit show, in which Spacey plays a corrupt USA congressman who eventually becomes president.

Sarandos said there would be eight episodes and that they would be produced in 2018.

It was announced in an official statement by Netflix that the company would no longer be affiliated with the once, critically-acclaimed actor following the on-going accusations against him.

Clemson-Alabama, Oklahoma-Georgia set for playoff semis
Clemson entered selection day with eight wins over teams with a.500 or better record, including victories over Auburn and Miami. That's due to Clemson , Auburn, Oklahoma and Wisconsin taking No. 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively, entering Saturday's action.

Spacey also has been fired from a film about Gore Vidal in which he was to play the title character, and he was replaced by Christopher Plummer in the soon-to-release "All the Money in the World", forcing last-minute reshoots before the film's debut December 22.

It is not known when the final season will air nor what the current status of any spin-off might be.

Production on "House of Cards" remains suspended through the end of the year.

The sixth season of the USA political drama, which starred the 58-year-old as a fictional president, was originally expected to air in mid-2018.

Netflix had also worked with Spacey on a movie in which the actor stars as the late writer Gore Vidal.

He said he didn't recall it, but allegations by other men followed.
