Hyderabad pacer Mohammed Siraj and dynamic Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer got national call-up on Monday, as the BCCI picked the two uncapped cricketers for the three-match series against New Zealand, starting November 1.
Veteran pacer Ashish Nehra has also been named in the India squad. We have clearly communicated to the player (Ashish Nehra) and to the team management that we are only looking at him till the New Zealand series, said Prasad on including Ashish Nehra in the 16 man probable's. "We will monitor Kohli's workload after the Tests (vs Sri Lanka)", said chief selector MSK Prasad.
"Iyer has been prolific across formats - in first-class, one-dayers, T20 - he's been performing consistently".
Prasad continued: "We can't say that [if he will surely play in the Delhi T20I]". He comes in for fellow Tamil Nadu batsman Abhinav Mukund and has enough time to prove his fitness as the three-Test series gets under way from November 16 in Kolkata.
However Prasad insists that Nehra's selection does not guarantee that he will play.
Canada foreign minister says NAFTA talks extension is good news
Lighthizer said he had no evidence that either Mexico or Canada is willing to "rebalance" this situation. Officials want to avoid tying the hands of their central banks when setting monetary policy, they said.
Siraj did well against New Zealand A team before the start of the India-New Zealand series.
KL Rahul kept his place in the T20 squad after being dropped for the ODI series while Dinesh Karthik also retained his spot after being picked for the series against Australia. "He is doing well, he has been duly recognised and rewarded as well". There is no assurance from our side that he's going to play or not.
The selectors continued to show faith on the spin troika - Kuldeep Yadav, Akshar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal.
