On Monday, the 23-year old center found Brown's minutes restriction to be "disappointing", but he further expanded on his thoughts today while speaking with reporters. Embiid estimated he'll play around 16 minutes per game.
"I got a voice, they got to listen to me".
Just as they did past year, the Sixers are once again planning to limit Joel Embiid's minutes to start the season.
The art of the nuclear deal
Second, Trump could call for greater non-nuclear sanctions on Iran as it seeks to punish the regime without violating the deal. Many Democrats believe that is more likely to happen if Congress does not act to make changes to the existing agreement.
"Oh sh*t, I didn't know about that", Embiid told PhillyVoice. The minutes thing we're going to learn more about that, there will be some minutes restriction, but it's also a judgment of how is the game being played, not just looking at a rigid number. Brett Brown and the coaching staff should have some discretion over how much he plays and when. But at the same time, that's me only playing four minutes a quarter, and just sitting there getting cold, and my body not being ready to go if I have to wait 8-10 minutes and then got to go finish the game, too. Over just 31 games, he averaged 25.4 minutes a game.
Embiid last played in a regular-season game on January 27 before missing Philadelphia's final 37 contests because of a left knee injury. Most fans would love to see the Sixers remove the training wheels and unleash Embiid in full force on the rest of the league. "We're going to discuss it, but at the same time I trust them, I trust the doctors, and even if I feel good, they have a plan behind it".
He only played in 31 games past year, and missed 164 games over two seasons (two entire campaigns) after recieving two foot surgeries after being drafted third overall in 2014. It turns out that this season, he'll still be handled carefully - despite his desire to play more. But by the end of November, Embiid was already up to playing around 28 minutes per game, with some additional leeway if the Sixers were engaged in a tight game during the final minutes.
