Pelosi, along with Reps.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday night said they had reached a deal with President Donald Trump that would protect certain unauthorized immigrants as part of a broader border-security agreement.
Pelosi was holding the conference with fellow California Democratic House members Barbara Lee and Jared Huffman to call for the passage of the DREAM Act, which would allow recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) and other undocumented immigrants brought to the USA as minors to remain in the country.
Protesters accused Pelosi and other democrats of deporting undocumented immigrants, asking for protection for 11 million undocumented immigrants across the country. "Democrats created an out-of-control deportation machine and handed it over to Trump".
Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) both disputed that any deal had been agreed to.
After the Republican-led Congress' failure to repeal President Barack Obama's health care law, when Trump cracked open the door of bipartisanship, the two Hill veterans barged through full-force.
Former Georgian president Saakashvili forces his way into Ukraine
Government officials at the border said 17 police and guards were injured during the confrontation with Saakashvili's supporters. He also does not have Georgian citizenship, which he declined in order to take on a Ukrainian passport in 2015.
But on Monday, Pelosi came face-to-face with people who say they would be directly affected by any change in policy.
"You're a liar, you're a liar", protesters said, attacking her about her efforts to stop deportation.
She had begun her speech, calling dreamers courageous. "We demand accountability. Democrats are not the resistance of Trump".
Pelosi and Schumer said their discussion with the president included the possibility of adding more immigration enforcement - which some immigration advocates are against - to legislation to address DACA.
"Shut down ICE!" Dreamers confront Nancy Pelosi about immigration, negotiations with Trump over DACA.
"You don't know what you're talking about", Pelosi told the group.
