Every auto made by the VW Group umbrella - including Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Seat, and Skoda - will eventually have a fully or partially electric counterpart and 80 new all-electric vehicles will be on the market by 2025.

German carmakers, which have relied heavily on diesel, have been bruised by controversy over the technology since Volkswagen's scandal, in which the company admitted to illegally rigging cars to turn off diesel emission controls when not on test stands.

And for the most part, it's only been Serena Williams , who gave birth to her first child on September 1st and isn't competing. The only time in her career she has reached that many major finals in a season was 2002 (lost all three).
Adding urgency to the push for electric cars, China over the weekend became the latest country to announce intentions to phase-out fossil-fuel powered vehicles, following the lead of the United Kingdom and France, which have outlined bans on combustion-engine models by 2040. This will result in around 300 electric models across VW Group's brands.
The world is shifting toward electric vehicles, but it's proving to be a gradual process.
The VW Group includes Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Skoda, Seat, Bentley and Bugatti.
Mercedes chief Dieter Zetsche said the entire range would have electric or hybrid versions by 2022. "People need clean air and we want to contribute".
By 2025, VW aims to have 50 purely battery-powered vehicles and 30 hybrid models in its lineup, with a goal of selling as many as 3 million all-electric cars by then. CROZZ is a crossover of an SUV and a four-door coupé, which has been further improved towards a production implementation.
The next instalment in Volkswagen's ID family is expected to be a large saloon, which is tentatively planned to be unveiled at the 2018 Geneva motor show. As part of their commitment to adapting and offering more sustainable vehicles, Volkswagen will be delivering more than 80 new electric vehicles to their customers by 2025.
