Star running back David Johnson dislocated a wrist, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said, and probably will require surgery.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Johnson could miss no time at all after being injured against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Johnson went down after he was hit by three players on the reception. He finished with 23 rushing yards on 11 carries and six receptions for 68 yards, giving him 91 yards from scrimmage.
This is the same injury suffered by rookie running back T.J. Logan during the Hall of Fame Game in August. This could be a long season and if the losing continues, they might not even consider bringing Johnson back off of injured reserve (if that's what they end up doing).
He was hoping to chase history again in 2017, after finishing last season 121 yards from becoming just the third National Football League player in history to gain 1000 rushing and receiving yards. But Wetzel is better at left tackle, Arians said. X-rays after the game came back negative and suggested that the wrist was only sprained.
Another Mosquito Pool Tests Positive For West Nile Virus
The Parma case marks the fourth in the state, the first of which was reported August 16 in Clermont County in southwestern Ohio. However, the health unit confirms the virus was found in mosquitoes located within a trap in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
"He didn't play very well".
Arians said the team's first-round draft pick, Haason Reddick, was outstanding in his start at inside linebacker.
"To have the lead going into the fourth quarter", he said, "we should win the game".
