A health care worker from a small U.S. town has quit the hospital job she held for 32 years after learning she won the largest Powerball prize for a single ticket-holder in the contest's North American history.
The jackpot is the largest grand prize won by a single lottery ticket in USA history. Around 10 million other lottery tickets won the prizes of more than $135 million.
The lucky numbers for the second largest lottery prize in USA history were 6, 7, 16, 23 and 26, and the Powerball number was 4.
Lottery officials apologized for initially reporting the ticket had been bought in Watertown. To win, players need to have paid $2 for a ticket and either have chosen numbers or opted to let a computer make a random choice.
The winning numbers are 6, 7, 16, 23 and 26, and the Powerball number is 4.
Powerball is played in 44 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Powerball jackpot has not been hit since early June.
