Earlier investigators said that they were looking into the attacker's "possible psychiatric disorders".
Fears have surfaced that other weapons were used in the attack, including an axe and stones.
The police said they were investigating the incident as attempted murder.
Later, the identity of the attacker has been revealed; he's a 23-year-old local resident. The police patrol, which arrived at the scene instantly, had to use their weapons against the attacker and killed him.

Police confirmed four of the victims were in a serious condition. Two have been discharged. The report said one woman was stabbed while standing at an ATM.
"A man was running along the main street stabbing people", the TASS news agency said.
