Miami Dolphins franchise quarterback Ryan Tannehill will undergo season-ending ACL surgery and will be placed on the team's injured reserve list, according to multiple reports. Tannehill avoided surgery after partially tearing his ACL late last season, but it is not surprising he is opting to get the knee repaired this time after re-tearing the same ACL last week.
Tannehill suffered the injury on August 3 when he fell to the ground while scrambling toward the sideline in practice. Now it appears that knee injury will end Tannehill's 2017 National Football League season before it even begins.
Powerball winning numbers: No victor as jackpot grows to $307 million
The roll-up to Saturday night's Powerball drawing began June 14 and has since rolled 15 times without a top-prize victor . If the prize amount doesn't go up, the Mega Millions jackpot would be the seventh largest in the game's history.
"It was tougher for me because it's more and more real", Gase said. Miami then convinced Jay Cutler to postpone his broadcasting career to join the team on a one-year deal that will could pay him up to $13 million. It's unfortunate for him.
Cutler will now fill in for Tannehill while Matt Moore remains to the backup on the depth chart for the Dolphins.
Tannehill, 29, threw for 2,995 yards, 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season in leading the Dolphins to a 10-6 record and a playoff berth. Starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill and starting linebacker Raekwon McMillan will miss the entire year with the same devastating injury. As with Cutler, Tannehill had enjoyed his best season under the tutelage of Gase, who was hired by Miami previous year.
