Frontier Airlines is bringing a bevy of low-priced flights to Miami International Airport, the Denver-based airline announced Tuesday, with the addition of nine routes this fall.

The new flights on Frontier will be a mix of weekly and daily service, and all new routes will begin before the end of the year.

Frontier will offer flights to Austin, Texas and Denver starting in October.

Low-priced carriers such as Frontier and Spirit, who offer tickets with no assigned seating, baggage that is checked or carry-ons, in certain cases, have introduced new discount fare competition into cities throughout the U.S.

To celebrate the big news, Frontier also announced a sale on Wednesday.

"Customers will benefit not only from the broad new selection of nonstop routes, but our growing network will provide more than 1,000 new connecting route options", said Barry Biffle, chief executive of Frontier, in a statement.

He becomes the Andalusians' fifth summer capture after Ever Banega, Sebastien Corchia, Guido Pizarro and Luis Muriel. City have had a number of requests to take Nolito on loan but were determined to hold out for a fee.

On Tuesday, Frontier Airlines announced the addition of 85 new routes and 21 new cities to its network.

Frontier operates a fleet of 70 new Airbus A320-family narrow-body airliners that is expected to grow to more than 100 planes by 2020.

Tickets for New Orleans, Phoenix and San Diego are now available for purchase. And Frontier will add a new flight between West Palm Beach and Long Island. The airline also offers nonstop trips to Orlando, Philadelphia and Trenton, N.J., Cleveland and Denver. Diamond said the reason Frontier can offer such low prices is by being "aggressive" in figuring out ways to cut costs.

The new flights will begin this fall and will be fully scheduled by next summer, though only six destinations start service before March.

In 2016, Frontier carried almost 575,000 passengers to and from MIA, making it the airport's seventh busiest passenger airline, officials said.

"Ten new routes from a single city in a single day is an unusual feat", Scott Fisher, Frontier Airlines senior director said.
