Apparently, because it was released as a TIDAL exclusive for six weeks last February - and resulted in 1.5 million new subscribers - Kanye should have been paid an agreed bonus as a result.

Per TMZ's sources, Kanye believed he was owed upwards of $3 million for bringing in new subscribers via The Life of Pablo and not being properly compensated for his music videos. Two weeks ago, West's lawyer sent a letter formalizing West's exit.

TMZ reports that Tidal's lawyers responded to West's legal threats by maintaining they have an exclusive contract with the rapper and will sue him if he should attempt to go to another music streaming service.

The website reports that the Life of Pablo rapper has parted ways with JAY-Z's streaming service after being unhappy with how it is being run. West's lawyers are also arguing that TIDAL has never reimbursed West on several music videos.

The fued between Kanye West and Jay-Z has reached a new level due to a reported lawsuit filed by Kanye West.

Kanye West has reportedly left Jay Z's Tidal music streaming service.

The feuding continued with West stating openly at a concert that he was waiting for Jay-Z to call him, while Jay-Z's lastest song release hitting out at West underlines the fractured relations between the pair.

West, of course, took part in that infamous parade of embarrassment back in 2015 when Jay-Z first bought the streaming firm and announced that he'd made a plethora of popstars shareholders in the company.

Kanye and Jay-Z's friendship has deteriorated since the duo released their critically-acclaimed joint album, Watch The Throne. "Kanye's response ... I'll deliver the videos when you pay me what I'm owed", says TMZ. You still ain't called me.

"You walking around like you invincible /You dropped out of school, you lost your principles/I know people backstabbed you, I felt bad too", JAY-Z raps, possibly referencing West's debut album "College Dropout".
