Thermal cladding is to be removed from 10 London tower blocks as a precaution following the Grenfell Tower fire.
It is thought the work will take three to four weeks.
The rest centre is at Swiss Cottage library, she said, adding: "People are on the ground now talking to residents, working with them to move them to the rest centre".

London police are considering filing manslaughter charges related to the fire at a west London apartment tower that killed at least 79 people.
"I'm at a loss as to why Theresa May has not convened (emergency committee) Cobra today to get emergency arrangements led by central government to support local authorities, to give the residents the necessary reassurance and address this issue".
But they both failed the police's safety tests, which are similar to those being carried out by the United Kingdom government.

"We have been supplying building products for more than 40 years and as a business our focus has always been to supply safe insulation products to make better buildings".
One shirt bearing the London Ambulance Service logo said: "We refuse to forget you".
The panels were apparently produced in different grades making it different to identify precisely which material may have been used in specific cases, she said.
