"But as a breast cancer survivor it's just a fun way to use that and spread the word of what relay for life and American Cancer Society can actually do for you", says Amanda Terry, Hero of Hope of Relay for Life.
"We are so grateful to have the support of Pine Ridge and our local businesses in our fundraising efforts", said Deloris Bauman the event lead for Relay For Life.
All the money raised goes towards the American Cancer Society to help in the fight against this disease.
Although that wasn't quite reached, the event still pulled in a little more than $56,000. The American Cancer Society has won 47 Nobel Prize winning researches out of 207. 47.

More than 400 cancer survivors registered to participate in this year's Greene County Relay for Life recognition ceremony, organizers reported.
Teams walk the track Friday evening at the 21st Annual Stutsman County Relay for Life. That's only part of the reason they volunteer. The ceremony is followed by the survivor lap, a lap for all cancer survivors and people now being affected by cancer.
A moving candlelight ceremony involving the attendees was also led by the Master of Ceremonies Margo Olmstead, who pointed out that nearly everyone has been touched by cancer in some way - either as a patient or as a friend, relative or caregiver of a cancer victim.
