Besides House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., the other victims in the shooting were identified as Capitol Police officers Krystal Griner and David Bailey; Zach Barth, a staffer for Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas; and Matt Mika, a lobbyist for Tyson Foods.
Williams later said on Twitter that Barth is receiving medical attention but is expected to make a full recovery.
Rep. Marc Veasey, who practices in Washington on the Democrats' team, tweeted about the incident, as did Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
Bleeding from his leg, he said he ran as fast as he could and jumped into the first base dugout with Rep. Williams attempting to take cover from the shooter.
The gunman has been identified as James T. Hodgkinson, 66, of IL.
Capitol Police Chief Matthew Verderosa said the two officers were in "good condition" and their injuries weren't life-threatening.
Barth said on "Fox & Friends" he was shagging fly balls in the outfield at the baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, when the shooting began.
