Earlier in the day, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Iran had obtained intelligence data proving that Riyadh is supporting terrorists along Iranian eastern and western borders.
"The claim of forming a coalition against Daesh is a lie; of course, Americans are against 'an uncontained Daesh, ' but if anyone would want to truly destroy Daesh, they [Americans] will counter them", he said, using an Arabic acronym for the group.
The top Iranian diplomat also stressed that the JCPOA was now being implemented in its natural manner as the Islamic Republic and the European Union member states were committed to the deal.
Iran also accuses the United States for Islamist militancy in the region.
More than a statement of sectarian rigidity, the Revolutionary Guard's statement implicating Saudi Arabia in Wednesday's attacks should be seen in the context of ever-worsening strategic tensions between Tehran and Riyadh.
Iran and the United States cut diplomatic ties shortly after Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution and enmity to Washington has always been a rallying point for hardline supporters of Khamenei in Iran.

In the meantime, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brig Gen Massoud Jazayeri said on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia and the United States "direct and support such acts of terrorism against regional countries", Tasnim news agency reported. At least 17 people were killed in the terrorist attacks, along with the six assailants, one of them female; more than 40 people were injured.
Zarif told the forum that recent Saudi officials' remarks against Iran are a "direct threat and very unsafe provocation". This distinction clearly eluded President Trump when he appeared to lump Iran and the Sunni jihadis together as part of the same "evil" in a speech to Muslim leaders in Saudi Arabia on May 21.

Zarif arrived in Norway on Monday to participate in the 15th Annual International Retreat of Mediators and Peace Process Actors in Oslo Forum. If U.S. rates rise, Saudi Arabia is seen likely to follow suit with its rates because the country's currency is pegged to the dollar.
