The Dodgers' pitching staff racked up a whole lotta strikeouts against the Brewers last night-a record-tying 26, as part of a 12-inning win that featured 42 Ks in total between the two teams. The game went 12 innings.

Corey Knebel relieved Nelson and after striking out Corey Seager, Grandal hit a screaming line drive home run to right to tie the game. ESPN reports Dodgers pitchers set a franchise record for strikeouts in a game with 26, tying an Major League Baseball record. That tied the record for the most strikeouts by a team in a single game.

It was one of many strikeouts in what ended up being a stellar start for Kershaw.

Nelson also became the first pitcher in Brewers history with back-to-back games with at least 10 strikeouts and no walks.?The Brewers' pitchers finished with 16 K's.

By another measure, Kershaw will reach 2,000 career strikeouts faster than all but one pitcher.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said LHP Alex Wood (shoulder) could start throwing by the end of the weekend, and that tests on Wood's AC joint came back negative.

Nelson hasn't allowed a walk in his last 18 innings. Hill is 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA in six career appearances (five starts) against the Brewers but hasn't faced them since posting a win on August 28, 2007 as a member of the Cubs.

The Dodgers picked up left-handed pitcher Jason Wheeler from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for cash considerations. His 2.37 ERA entering play on Friday would represent his worst mark in a season since 2012.
